How to Journal with Kin

Kin's Journal feature can turn your daily thoughts into powerful, personal insights—helping you become more self-aware.

Step 1: Open the Kin App

  • Launch the Kin app on your device.

  • Tap on the book icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen.


Step 2: Choose Your Input Method

  • Decide whether you’d like to Type or Speak your journal entry.

  • Tap on your preferred option to proceed.


If you choose to Type:
Step 3: Get Inspired with Prompts

  • Kin will present you with an inspiration prompt to help kickstart your journaling.

  • You can refresh the prompt for new ideas.

  • Feel free to remove or ignore the prompt and start typing your own thoughts.

If you choose to Speak:
Step 4: Start Speaking

  • Begin speaking your journal entry aloud.

  • You can pause at any time or delete your entry if you change your mind.

  • Once you’re finished, tap the “Stop” icon.


Step 5: Review and Edit Your Transcription

  • After stopping, Kin will display a transcription of your spoken words.

  • Review the text and make any edits you wish.

  • If you’re not ready to save, you can go back—Kin will save it as a draft for later.


Step 6: Save Your Journal Entry

When you’re satisfied with your entry, tap “Save”. Kin will then analyze your journal entry, identifying key details such as:

  • People you’ve mentioned.

  • Interactions you’ve had.

  • Emotions connected to those people or experiences.


Step 7: Dive Deeper with Kin

  • After the analysis, you have two options:

  • Tap “Go Back” to return to the previous screen.

  • Tap “Talk to Kin about it” to engage in a dialogue about your entry.
