How to Use Kin's Memory

Every conversation builds your story—and Kin remembers every word.

Step 1: Navigate to the Chat

  • Launch the Kin app on your device.

  • Tap the speech bubble icon in the bottom right to open up the Chat.


Step 2: Choose Your Input Method

  • Decide whether you’d like to Type or Speak your journal entry.

  • Tap on your preferred option to proceed.

If you chose to Type:
Step 3: Type Your Information

  • Type something about you, those around you, or your situation.

If you chose to Speak:
Step 3: Say Your Information

  • Say something about you, those around you, or your situation aloud.

  • You can pause at any time or delete your entry if you change your mind.

  • Once you’re finished, tap the “Stop” icon.


Step 4: Review and Edit Your Message

  • Now, Kin’s input box contains the message you’ve prepared to send.

  • Review the text, ensure it’s accurate to what you wanted, and make any edits you wish.


Step 5: Send Your Message

  • Once you send the message, any keywords Kin thinks it should add to its Memory are highlighted in the chat thread

  • If Kin has missed a keyword, let it know—Kin can record knowledge on request. 

  • Similarly, if you’d like to know what Kin knows about a certain keyword, ask! Kin will explain what it knows.


Step 6: Visit the ‘Streaks and Stats’ Tab

  • Tap the “x” button in the top left to return to the Home page

  • Hit the flame icon in the top right to can enter the Streaks & Stats tab. 

  • This tab shows the amount of days you’ve used Kin in a row (your Streak), and what Kin has learned about you today across its Chat and Journal features (your Stats).

  • Any highlighted keywords (and the information about them) are automatically added to Kin’s Memory

  • In the top right of the tab, hitting the connected dots icon will show your Knowledge Map, which showcases every connection and fact Kin has recorded about you.
