At Kin, we believe your data is your business — not ours.

Data is stored on your device

Your data is stored locally on your device. We have no cloud database with user data. This guarantees that no one at Kin can access your data, and minimizes the risk of data being hacked or leaked.

What happens off-device?

Kin uses powerful AI models that cannot yet run entirely on-device. For AI processing, we use trusted service providers that only process request data to fulfill the response — they do not train on or retain any data.

If you enable web search, Kin uses relevant parts of your messages to search the web.

Voice chat can be processed either on-device or via cloud services — your choice in settings.

Whatever you select, Kin only stores your conversations and information on your device.

Who can see my conversations?

Just you. We as developers have no access to what you say to Kin or what it learns about you (unless you explicitly share it with us for support purposes).

What if I enable "Help improve Kin"?

If you enable "Help improve Kin" in Settings, we log requests and responses to understand Kin's behavior and improve it. These logs cannot be linked to identifiable account information. Flagged logs can be accessed by selected engineers and are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Early Access

You can also toggle on Early Access in Settings to try unreleased features before they're publicly available.
